🧀 Crispy Fried Cheese Sticks
Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, fried cheese sticks are a classic appetizer that’s perfect for snacking or party food.
Ingredients
-
12 sticks Mozzarella Cheese (string cheese or cut blocks)
-
½ cup All-Purpose Flour
-
2 large Eggs, beaten
-
1–2 cups Bread Crumbs (panko for extra crunch)
-
1 tsp Garlic Powder (optional)
-
½ tsp Salt
-
¼ tsp Black Pepper
-
Oil for frying
Instructions
-
Prep the cheese sticks
Freeze mozzarella sticks for 30–60 minutes to prevent them from melting too quickly during frying. -
Set up a breading station
-
Plate 1: flour
-
Plate 2: beaten eggs
-
Plate 3: bread crumbs mixed with garlic powder, salt, and pepper
-
-
Coat the cheese sticks
-
Roll each stick in flour → dip in egg → coat in bread crumbs
-
For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating once more
-
-
Fry the cheese sticks
-
Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 175°C (350°F)
-
Fry sticks 1–2 minutes, until golden brown
-
Drain on paper towels
-
-
Serve hot
-
Serve with marinara, ranch, or any dipping sauce you love
-
Tips
-
Freeze before frying – this prevents cheese from oozing out too fast.
-
Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
-
For a healthier version, bake at 220°C (425°F) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
💡 Serving idea: Make it a party platter with Marinara Sauce, Ranch Dressing, and Garlic Aioli for dipping.
I can also provide a super crispy air-fryer version that stays gooey inside without using much oil.
