Aloe Vera Oil for Hair Growth and Hair Loss
Introduction
Aloe vera oil is commonly used in natural hair care because it helps moisturize the scalp, strengthen hair strands, and support healthier hair growth. Making it at home is simple and requires only a few ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 fresh aloe vera leaf
- 1 cup coconut oil or olive oil
- 1 teaspoon castor oil (optional)

- Knife
- Spoon
- Small saucepan
- Strainer or cheesecloth
- Clean glass jar or bottle
Instructions
- Wash the aloe vera leaf thoroughly to remove any dirt.
- Cut off the edges of the leaf and slice it open lengthwise.
- Use a spoon to scoop out the clear aloe vera gel.
- Place the aloe vera gel and coconut oil (or olive oil) in a small saucepan.
- Heat the mixture on very low heat for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the gel pieces turn slightly brown and the oil separates, turn off the heat.
- Allow the oil to cool completely.
- Strain the oil using a strainer or cheesecloth into a clean glass jar.
- Add castor oil if desired and mix well.
How to Use
- Take a small amount of the oil and apply it to your scalp.
- Massage gently for 5–10 minutes.
- Leave it on for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
Frequency of Use
Use the oil two to three times per week for best results.
Storage
Store the aloe vera oil in a clean, airtight container in a cool and dry place. It can typically be used for up to two weeks.
