Instructions

Activate yeast:

In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast.

Mix dough:

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.

Add yeast mixture and oil. Stir until a dough forms.

Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5–7 minutes.

First rise:

Punch down dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
